Gyazo 2 for Windows

Press Ctrl+Shift+C, drag over part of the screen, and the share link is on your clipboard. Press Ctrl+Shift+G to record a short video instead. Shortcuts and options are in Gyazo 2 Utility in the Start menu.

Windows will warn you about this installer. Here's why

When you run it, Windows shows a blue or red "Windows protected your PC" screen. That appears for every new app that doesn't yet have a paid code-signing certificate. It means Windows doesn't recognise the publisher yet. It does not mean anything was found wrong with the file.

The installer is safe. We're a new project and we are in the process of getting a code-signing certificate, which involves an identity check and takes a little time. Once the installer is signed, this warning goes away.

To install now: click More info then Run anyway.

It installs only for your Windows account and never asks for administrator rights.
It captures or records only the area you select, only when you press the hotkey, and sends it only to Gyazo 2.
You can remove it at any time from Windows Settings → Apps.

Setup

Run Gyazo2Setup.exe. It installs for your Windows account only and doesn't need administrator rights.
Windows will show a warning first: see the red box above for why, and click More info → Run anyway.
Gyazo 2 opens its settings. The server is already set to https://gyazo2.com.
Click Sign in with browser, then Connect on the page that opens. You'll be asked to log in first (or sign up).
Press Ctrl+Shift+C to take your first screenshot, or Ctrl+Shift+G to record a video (press it again to stop).
To change shortcuts or what happens after a capture, open Gyazo 2 Utility from the Start menu or the tray icon.

Uninstall any time from Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps.

Using a Mac?

A Mac app with a ⌘+Shift+C hotkey is on the way. Until then you can already share screenshots from a Mac in a few seconds, with nothing to install:

Press ⌘+Ctrl+Shift+4 and drag over part of the screen. The Mac copies the screenshot to the clipboard instead of saving a file.
Log in (or sign up) and go to your gallery and press ⌘+V.
It uploads and opens straight away; click Copy link to share it.

You can also drag screenshot files from the desktop or Finder onto the gallery page. This works in Safari, Chrome and Firefox, and on phones and tablets too (use the "choose files" link).
